WEEKLY MESSAGE FROM MHA

Governance Changes Drive Mission Forward

July 10, 2023
MHA recently made several changes to modernize our governance structure and ensure the Association remains nimble, responsive, and well-positioned to address the emerging challenges and opportunities in health care. MHA held elections during our Annual Membership Meeting last month, welcomed a new Board of Trustees, and implemented significant governance changes to drive your priorities forward.

These leaders bring a wealth of experience and expertise in health care, policy, and advocacy, and we welcome their diverse perspectives and deep commitment to the well-being of Marylanders. Thank you to our outgoing Executive Committee members for their invaluable contributions and unwavering dedication. We would like to extend a special thank you to our outgoing Executive Committee chair, Harry S. Johnson, who led the organization through our modernization and received the MHA Distinguished Service Award in June at MHA’s annual meeting.

We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to all of our members who continuously demonstrate their trust and confidence in MHA, particularly the members of our three governing councils (Legislative & Regulatory Policy, Financial Policy, and Clinical & Quality Issues) and many member-led work groups and committees, which guide our agenda on behalf of the full membership. Your leadership, support, and collaboration are vital to our success, and we look forward to working closely with you as we navigate the evolving health care landscape together.

With our newly elected Board of Trustees and enhanced governance structure, MHA is well-equipped to champion your needs, drive positive change in health care policy, and improve the health and well-being of all Marylanders.

Thank you for your ongoing support.
