MHA is the only state hospital association in the U.S. led by hospital trustees. The association's Board of Trustees is composed of the chief elected trustee leader (or his or her designee) from each member organization. The board annually approves the association's budget and elects the Executive Committee members. The Executive Committee of the Board is MHA's highest policymaking body and has the authority for most decisions, activities and functions.
MHA's Policy Councils
MHA’s three policy councils help set MHA’s positions on issues important to hospitals and the people they serve. Recommendations are made to MHA’s Executive Committee of the Board, which approves the positions and occasionally convenes task forces to address specific issues.
