WEEKLY MESSAGE FROM MHA

A Career in Hospital Care is Waiting

February 06, 2023
Erin, a nurse at R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center at the University of Maryland Medical Center calls it an “honor” to care for patients. Pasha, from Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center, says a career in a hospital is a “tangible way to show how much” she cares.

Erin and Pasha are lending their voices to MHA’s JoinMdHealth campaign—our field’s first statewide workforce recruitment campaign. The digital advertising launches February 6 and features your best spokespeople—your own awesome team members. This marketing push shines a light on the special opportunities for career development and personal fulfillment available in our hospitals and health systems.

We’ll connect job seekers with positions available now to help fill your workforce gaps in the short term. We’ll also highlight education pathways available, to strengthen the pipeline of caregivers for years to come.

Our message is simple: No matter your background, your age, your interests, or your education level, a career in hospital care is waiting for you. Our goal is to grow and diversify your workforce.

We know this is not a challenge that hospitals can tackle alone. That is why MHA partnered with education institutions, including HBCUs, community colleges, and nursing schools, as well as other organizations. Everyone is behind this campaign to build a robust hospital workforce.

We invite you to follow JoinMdHealth on FacebookTwitterLinkedInInstagram, and TikTok. We’ll be adding new content throughout the campaign, so please encourage your employees to participate. Get in touch with us at mha@mhaonline.org to learn how your hospital can be involved.
