Jennifer Witten joined MHA in January 2015 and leads the efforts for the association representing Maryland's hospitals before the state and federal legislative and regulatory bodies. She provides guidance to leadership that defines, implements, and monitors overarching association goals along with establishing annual legislative and regulatory advocacy priorities. Jennifer's years of experience in quality improvement, government relations, public health programs and policy, coalition management, advocacy strategies, policy initiatives, legislative agendas, and project management.
Jennifer previously had worked in senior government relations positions in Maryland and D.C. with the American Heart Association and the American Stroke Association. She owned and operated her own consulting business working with clients within the non-profit and healthcare industry. Jennifer also knows the front lines of care: she is a nurse with experience in emergency and cancer care. She spent 13 years as an emergency medical technician for the largest provider in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Jennifer holds a Master of Business Administration from the College of Santa Fe and a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare and Business Management.
