MARYLAND ELECTION RESOURCES

Candidate Questionnaire and Responses

What is the greatest health care challenge facing Maryland today, and how do you plan to address it?

Ending the mandates and increasing incentives and pay for healthcare workers to stay here in Maryland.  We are losing healthcare workers and rejecting great students because of the mandates.  I am personally representing many of them and they tend to be some of the best Maryland has.  Instead of flying in foreigners to do their jobs, we need to stop the madness of penalties and mandates and restore freedom.

Maryland’s hospitals operate under a unique contract with the federal government that promotes community, equity, and value. It also contributes significantly to Maryland's economy. How do you plan to support the continued success of the Maryland Model?

Open up the free market and reject the overreaching federal government's disastrous destruction of our healthcare system in Maryland.  There is no such thing as "equity" - that is discrimination against persons.  Equality is the key and I will enforce it for all people under the existing Maryland law.  Any federal agent who discriminates against a hospital or undermines our law or the unique system of support to our healthcare will result in public disclosure, transparency, advocacy by my office and if necessary, litigation against them.

Maryland is experiencing a shortage of health care practitioners, especially nurses, that we project will worsen in the years ahead. How do you plan to address the immediate crisis and what will you do to make sure we have a robust and sustainable health care workforce pipeline?

See my above comments about ending the insane mandates and restoring freedom.  I will also restore all back pay and provide discrimination payments to every employee fired or forced to leave.  Every hospital system that participated in such discrimination will be required to not only correct the matter financially for each person, but will be required to participate in a program that attracts employees at top pay scales with zero discrimination publicly stating so.  They will also be required to provide job advertising to groups they targeted for discrimination.

How would you increase availability of and access to health care for Marylanders?

Fund increased clinics and hospital branches in every County and in the Cities.

What policies will you pursue to improve health for all Marylanders? Please also consider the social determinants of health?

Empower people to make their own healthcare decisions and to be free to exercise, providing tax credits for exercise and athletic memberships.  Ensuring groceries with fresh foods and vegetables and order the Board of Physicians and Board of Nursing to cease and desist targeting wholistic practitioners from practicing.

How do you plan to address consumers' growing exposure to health care costs, such as high deductible health plans and rising prescription drug prices in Maryland?

Open the market across state lines to allow purchasing of any policy, increasing competition.  I also passed price caps for insulin and sponsored the same for Epi pens.  We need access to less expensive medications and opening the market is the key.

Maryland’s worsening medical liability climate, as noted in a recent independent report, threatens access to, and affordability of, health care services in Maryland. Plaintiffs’ attorneys typically take 40% of a medical malpractice judgment. Do you support limiting attorneys’ fees so that the affected individuals can receive more of their settlement or judgment? What additional reforms would you support that balance supporting individuals and families harmed by medical malpractice with ensuring continued access to services in a community?

Absolutely not - life and health depends on holding big corporate healthcare responsible for their horrific actions when they occur.  I do not support Doctors being prevented from profiting at the Medicaid rates, for instance, so I would be opposed to any attempt to stop the protections and incentives to keep our healthcare system the best in the world with accountability.

What are your priorities should you be elected, not confined to health care?

Please see my website CoxforFreedom.com

I was the swing vote on my Judiciary Committee in providing police to Johns Hopkins U Hospital to protect our healthcare workers.  I put in bills to protect our nurses from assault.  Sadly, Hopkins caved to the woke false voices and are still not empowering its own authority to protect its own workers with the police authority I voted to give it.

What type of judicial candidates would you appoint and what characteristics do they have?

Strict Constitutional Constructionists.  Adherence to the Constitution is absolutely necessary for every appointee.

As Governor, you would appoint the Secretary of the Maryland Department of Health. What characteristics and priorities do you believe your health secretary should have?

1. Swears allegiance to the Constitutional mandates under the Maryland and US Constitutions to never force or mandate any health or other mandate on the citizens of Maryland.
2. Adherence to the principles of the Hippocratic Oath.
3. Complete disclosure of any and all Big Pharma interests and investments.  No private investments in Big Pharma will be permitted for health officials who make recommendations to my office and the public regarding medications and vaccines.
