TRANSFORMING HEALTH CARE

Maryland Leading Care Delivery Transformation

Maryland’s hospitals, under the state’s unique health care system — the Total Cost of Care Model — are on the leading edge of care delivery transformation. Hospitals and health care providers continue to hold down health care cost increases and improve quality for patients. Data from the Health Services Cost Review Commission (HSCRC) and Maryland Department of Health show that on metrics the model measures –– hospital spending growth, statewide health care spending, readmissions, and hospital-acquired infections and complications – hospitals are meeting or exceeding the high bars set by the model and its predecessor, the All-Payer Model.

All of these efforts are aimed at improving the health of entire communities and working to get Marylanders the right care, at the right time, in the right setting.
