H1N1 Vaccine Available for All Marylanders

Governor Martin O'Malley announced today that Maryland will expand the distribution of H1N1 flu vaccine to the general population.  The five target groups will remain a statewide priority as the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DHMH) reports a decline in flu activity following a late October second wave peak in H1N1 flu.  The five target groups include:
  • Pregnant Women
  • Parents, household contacts and caregivers for children younger than 6 months of age
  • Health care and Emergency Medical Services Personnel
  • All People Ages 6 months through 24
  • Persons Aged 25 through 64 years who have health conditions with higher risk of medical complications from influenza
