ONE BILLION STRONG

2010 was a record-setting year. For the first time ever, Maryland’s hospitals crossed the $1 billion mark in community benefits — the critical community health care services provided to improve health status, access to care, and quality of life in our communities. It’s an impressive milestone, but it’s only part of the story. If you look closer, you can see the strength of our hospitals’ commitment to the community can be measured in countless ways.

The Maryland Hospital Association publishes its Maryland Hospitals' Community Benefits publication to highlight the great work Maryland’s hospitals do in and around their communities each and every year.  This year’s Community Benefits publication is the largest to date, highlighting a standout Community Benefits story from each of the contributing 39 acute care hospitals throughout the state for fiscal year 2010 (July 1, 2009 – June 30, 2010).
